Qiuyang advises multinationals in the technology, consumer, and industrials sectors on data protection, cybersecurity, telecommunications, e-commerce, and advertising regulations in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and other APAC jurisdictions.

He is experienced in guiding clients through the complexities of compliance related to innovative technologies and their business applications. He also assists organizations in responding to data breaches and cybersecurity incidents and is well-versed in corporate and technology transactions.

His previous experience includes advising clients on trademark prosecution, enforcement and disputes as well as on private and public M&A deals.

  • Assising APAC-headquatered companies in performing gap analyses to ensure global data compliance, including for employee monitoring projects spanning the US and EU.
  • Assisting clients in responding to data security incidents in China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
  • Advising a German automobile giant on privacy issues around automated driving systems.
  • Assisting multinationals in navigating telecom licensing and other regulatory landscapes in China to facilitate their launch of diverse offerings, ranging from e-commerce platforms to cutting-edge satellite Internet services.
  • Advising major technology companies on software licensing and SaaS subscription arrangements.
  • Assisting multinationals in negotiating joint venture and IP co-development and licensing agreements to enable the establishment of manufacturing capacity in China.
