Michał Orzechowski heads our Polish antitrust and FDI practice. He has been recognised as a Next Generation Partner by Legal 500 since 2021. He has over 15 years' experience advising multinational and local businesses on complex competition law matters, including antitrust and merger control filings. He's also experienced in the wider government contracting field, focusing particular on complex contentious public procurement mandates.

Michał supports clients on all issues related to anti-competitive agreements (dawn-raid readiness, horizontal and vertical agreements) and unilateral practices as well as representing them before public authorities and courts. He handles merger control proceedings before both national authorities and the European Commission. He was also involved in many high-profile mandates concerning state aid aspects.

With regard to government contracting, he advises clients in the course of proceedings for the award of procurement contracts, and representing them before the National Chamber of Appeals and courts.

Michał is a member of the Polish Competition Law Association and the Public Procurement Law Association in Poland.

  • Advising a major American aerospace company and leading manufacturer of aircraft during the Polish VIP and Head of State aircraft tender proceedings.
  • Advising Dredging International in the tender proceedings for the modernisation of the Szczecin-Świnoujście fairway, organised by the Maritime Authority in Szczecin. The contract was awarded to the consortium led by Dredging International.
  • Representing Control Process in complaint proceedings before the regional court concerning a high-profile bid rigging case.
