DLA Piper appoints new partner to London Real Estate team

DLA Piper is further strengthening its Real Estate practice with the appointment of Bonnie Calnan as a partner in its London Office. She joins the firm from Dentons on 14 June.

Bonnie has substantial experience of complex, high-value transactions and on leading multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional teams based in both the UK and Europe. Her experience includes acting for private equity and debt funds, overseas investors and sovereign wealth funds with many of her transactions focused on offices, hotels and alternatives including logistics and industrial, student accommodation, self-storage and life sciences.

Commenting on the appointment, UK Head of Real Estate, William Naunton, said:

"The UK Real Estate team has been building a reputation in the UK over the past few years for working on increasingly sophisticated and complex work. Bonnie’s experience plays well to this and will further bolster the firm’s reputation in this section of the market."

Bonnie’s appointment is yet another example of the firm’s commitment to developing its global real estate offering, following on from a number of transactional and fund partner hires over the past 12 month. Jonny Powling also joined the London team this month from Addleshaw Goddard, Stephanie Lambert the Sydney team from Holman Fenwick Willan in April, Marc Bartholomy and a team of three to the Moscow office in March from Clifford Chance and Joseph Spinks from Linklaters in Brussels in September last year.
