Cybersecurity Risk and Resilience Hackathon

Insights & Practical Responses to Real-World Supply Chain Threats

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Cybersecurity Risk & Resilience Hackathon. We welcomed a senior, cross‑functional group of leaders for an intensive, scenario‑based session exploring how organisations can prepare for, manage and recover from complex cyber incidents.

If you missed a session, or would like to revisit any of the insights, you can now watch the recordings from each segment of the event below.

Event Highlights

The day combined high‑impact briefings from our cyber, privacy and regulatory specialists with a practical hackathon simulation that challenged participants to make rapid decisions under pressure. Attendees collaborated across legal, technology, operations, and executive roles to navigate a realistic incident timeline and compare response strategies with peers from multiple sectors.

Key themes included:

  • Cyber incidents as whole‑of‑business resilience events
  • Crisis coordination across legal, IT, operational and executive teams
  • Regulatory and litigation exposure arising from breaches
  • Ransomware escalation, extortion tactics and negotiation frameworks
  • Strengthening organisational resilience through testing and simulation

What We Heard in the Room

A clear theme throughout the session was the recognition that cyber incidents are fundamentally business resilience challenges, not solely technical events. Participants emphasised:

  • The need to identify critical business processes and systems that must remain operational during disruption.
  • The importance of genuine cross‑functional collaboration when navigating a cyber crisis.
  • The value of testing incident response plans through realistic simulations, rather than relying exclusively on written procedures.

About the Event

This hackathon‑style format enabled attendees to work through a fictional but realistic cyber incident as it unfolded. Participants applied current legal and regulatory frameworks, debated response strategies, and explored how organisations can strengthen crisis readiness through training, planning and cross‑functional coordination.

Thank you again to everyone who contributed to a highly engaged and insightful session.
