DLA Piper takes home three wins from the LMG Life Sciences awards
LMG Life Sciences held its EMEA Annual Awards ceremony at the Waldorf Hilton, London last night, with DLA Piper bringing home three awards and shortlisted for a further 11.
Now in its 13th year, the annual Life Sciences Awards are presented to law firms, in-house lawyers, individual private practitioners and corporations behind the most innovative and challenging legal work across the life sciences industry from the past 12 months, as well as those driving the international market.
DLA Piper won the following awards:
- Impact Deal – For the carveout of Sanofi's Heathcare Division (Opella) and sale to CD&R
- Italy Firm of the Year
- Ireland Firm of the Year
DLA Piper was also shortlisted for a further 11 awards across the Firm, Rising Star and Jurisdiction award categories.
Marco de Morpurgo, Global Co-Chair of Life Sciences at DLA Piper, commented: “I am so proud of DLA Piper's continued winning form at the LMG Life Sciences awards. Binging home three awards from the night and being shortlisted for a further 11 is no small achievement. This is down to our ability to help our clients understand the challenges they face and solve them, in what is an increasingly complex world. Our awards for Firm of the Year in both Italy and Ireland are also a clear illustration of our expert understanding of cultural and professional context underpinned by our global consistency at delivering results. A big thank you from me for all the hard work the global team has put in to helping our clients achieve their goals and for that to be recognized in these awards.”
Sonia de Kondserovsky, Paris based Corporate partner at DLA Piper and head of the team that won the Impact Deal Award, commented: “The sale of Sanofi's Heathcare Division Opella and sale to CD&R was one of the most significant transactions in the industry over the past few years. Its success highlights DLA Piper’s deep industry expertise and ability to craft tailored solutions to complex challenges and it is fantastic that it has been recognized in such a way in this year's awards."
Working across more than 50 jurisdictions, DLA Piper’s Life Sciences sector group combines legal and regulatory experience with deep knowledge of the sector, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotech, healthtech, clinical research services and the latest therapeutic innovations.
