DLA Piper strengthens Private Equity sponsor capabilities with addition of Charles Ching
DLA Piper has added Charles Ching as Partner in the Private Equity practice, strengthening the firm’s sponsor-side transactional capabilities and deepening its cross-border reach across Asia-Pacific markets. He will be based in the firm’s Washington, DC office.
Ching advises private equity sponsors on acquisitions, carve-outs, privatizations, and portfolio company transactions, with experience executing matters that span multiple jurisdictions and regulatory regimes. Ching’s sector experience includes technology, healthcare, and energy transition, covering both public and private transactions. His work also regularly involves coordinating cross-border deal structures, particularly in Asia–US and Asia–Europe transactions.
“Amid accelerating Asia-Pacific private equity investment, DLA Piper continues to invest in talent who have on-the-ground experience in supporting sponsors and institutional investors operating across global markets,” said Joseph Silver, the US Chair and Global Co-Chair of the firm’s Private Equity practice. “Ching’s experience enhances DLA Piper’s ability to deliver integrated transactional support on complex, multi-jurisdictional investments across both established and emerging Asia-Pacific markets.”
Ching has been recognized by IFLR1000 Asia-Pacific as a “Highly Regarded” lawyer for mergers and acquisitions and as a A-List Visionary by the China Business Law Journal.
With more than 225 global lawyers providing strategic counsel to private equity funds and their industry-leading portfolio companies, DLA Piper’s Private Equity practice has the capacity, experience, and relationships to help drive value across the investment life cycle by delivering responsive, efficient, and integrated solutions around the world.
