Harrison is a senior associate in DLA Piper (Canada) LLP's Edmonton office with a corporate and commercial law practice focusing on advising family offices, private equity funds, private companies and owners on complex corporate, M&A, governance, and strategic matters. Harrison's work includes private mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, financial services and general corporate commercial matters. He is particularly known for being sophisticated transaction counsel, and for his work at the intersection of ownership, governance, and long term value creation for closely held and privately controlled enterprises – especially real estate development companies.
Harrison has particular experience in acting for buyers and sellers in complex asset and business transactions and has experience in tax efficient reorganizations, joint ventures and other general commercial arrangements. He has acted in a wide range of commercial real estate and real property matters, including the purchase and sale of large malls, office towers, farmland, and multi-family portfolios. He has assisted developers in bringing projects to market and undertakes real estate financings, commercial leasing (from both a landlord and tenant perspective), real property contracts such as easements and right of ways for large industrial clients and pursues all other aspects real property development.
Harrison also has experience with syndicated and bilateral financings, intercreditor arrangements and facilitating all other secured transactions and financial service needs for borrowers and lenders.
