Jon Cline is a real estate attorney in the investment funds group. He has over a decade of experience representing private equity sponsors, REITs, and developers in connection with the acquisition and financing of commercial real estate, including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, and hospitality properties. Jon regularly advises clients on complex transaction structures, including portfolio acquisitions, tenant-in-common arrangements, loan assumptions, and ground leases. He also helps clients identify real estate-related risks and draft corresponding risk factors in offering memoranda for private securities offerings, particularly for Delaware Statutory Trusts. Jon advises on all due diligence for acquisitions and the offerings that follow. He ensures compliance with applicable securities regulations and tax code requirements governing DST programs. Prior to joining DLA Piper, Jon practiced at other large international law firms, where he represented both lenders and purchasers at various stages of his career. This diverse experience allows him to bring a well-rounded perspective to each engagement.
