David Hawreluk, K.C., is an impactful litigator, appreciated by his clients and peers for his creative and business-minded approach to dispute resolution. David's legal practice is focused entirely on complex contract and commercial litigation matters, representing clients primarily in the fields of civil, commercial, municipal and industrial infrastructure, rail, P3, oil and gas, agriculture, and large real estate development and construction projects. David has extensive experience with contract and construction disputes, including sophisticated, multi-party commercial and construction litigation, arbitrations and mediations, and fast-track dispute processes.

As part of his practice, David has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, the trial division of the Federal Court of Canada and various arbitration, administrative, mediation and regulatory panels.

David has extensive mediation experience and acts as a mediator. As a further commitment to his work as a mediator, he completed training in Mediation and Conflict Management through Harvard Law School in 2022.

As an actively involved member of the legal community, David has been an instructor for the Alberta Bar Admission Course and at various Legal Education Society of Alberta seminars. He is the author of “The Lawyer's Duty to Himself and the Code of Professional Conduct”, published by the Law Society of Upper Canada Gazette.
