About
Paul Doris has over 20 years’ experience of representing financial investors, corporates, utilities, and financial institutions on domestic (U.K.) and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and private equity transactions.

He advises clients across a range of sectors, particularly energy, energy transition, infrastructure, technology, telecommunications, chemicals, healthcare, and natural resources. 

Paul has practiced English corporate law in London, Madrid, Frankfurt, and Paris, and advised on transactions throughout Western, Central and Eastern Europe, and in Latin and Central America, Sub-Saharan Africa, the MENA region, Asia, and Australasia. 

Fluent in Spanish, and with a broad knowledge of Spanish corporate law, he regularly advises international clients on mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures involving Spain and Latin America.

  • Advising an international data centre provider on a proposed joint venture with a multinational renewable energy group in relation to solar PV, onshore wind, and energy storage projects.
  • Advising an energy-focused private equity firm and a multinational integrated energy company on their proposed acquisition of a leading European independent power producer.
  • Advising an international carbon recycling group on the funding and development of its sustainable aviation fuel projects.
  • Advising a global energy storage group on the development of international energy storage projects in the U.K., China, and Africa.
  • Advising an international energy group on a proposed joint venture involving Europe and Southeast Asia.
  • Advising a consortium of private equity funds on its successful USD15bn bid to acquire a global data centre operator across 11 countries and four continents.
  • Advising a consortium of infrastructure funds and pension funds on its proposed GBP15bn acquisition of an electricity distribution network operator.
  • Advising an international oil major on its acquisition of a business-to-business gas and electricity customer portfolio in the U.K.
  • Advising a European energy group on its disposal of a 49% stake in a 150 MW offshore wind farm in England to a European pension group.
  • Advising an international energy group on its joint venture to develop and finance a USD 2.8bn 700 MW offshore wind project in the Taiwan Strait.
  • Advising a European pension fund on its acquisition of a controlling interest in a 288 MW offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
  • Advising a private equity-sponsored European energy group on its acquisition of a 365 MWp solar PV portfolio in the U.K.
