DLA Piper advises Garbe Institutional Capital on the acquisition of a building and property for Infineon's hybrid timber construction

DLA Piper has advised Garbe Institutional Capital (Garbe) on the acquisition of a research and development building leased by Infineon Technologies AG (Infineon) and a neighboring property owned by the high-tech company. The acquisition was carried out together with BC Partners Real Estate.

From next year, the partners will develop a new hybrid timber building with KfW 40 standard on the site in Warstein, Germany. Both the existing building and the development project will be leased by Infineon for 25 years, starting with the completion of the development. The seller of the existing building is W.P.Carey. BC Partners and the Garbe platform will each contribute their expertise in the areas of operational know-how, project development and asset management to the project. BC Partners is providing the equity for the transaction.

Infineon Technologies AG is a DAX40-listed semiconductor company with over 55,000 employees worldwide. By doubling its floor space to approx. 20,000 m², Infineon will be able to further expand its strong growth at the Warstein site with over 2,200 employees, including 600 engineers.
