DLA Piper welcomes William Thompson to the Business & Commercial Litigation Practice
DLA Piper is pleased to welcome Will Thompson as a partner in the Business & Commercial Litigation Practice, based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Thompson is a leading first-chair trial lawyer who represents technology companies and other industry leaders in high-stakes commercial disputes. He has extensive experience defending clients in complex business litigation, including precedent-setting cases in state and federal courts. He also advises clients in sports litigation matters and maintains an active oil and gas practice, with a focus on fraud and corporate disputes.

Before his legal career, Thompson was drafted by both the Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants. He played professionally for several years in the Giants’ organization, winning a batting title, multiple All-Star selections, and reaching the AAA level before an injury ended his career.
