DLA Piper advises UK Government on its exit from Shared Services Connected Ltd

DLA Piper has supported the Cabinet Office on arrangements for the exercise of a pre-agreed option and the subsequent sale of its stake in Shared Services Connected Ltd (SSCL), a pan-government (and wider public sector) business support services joint venture that it entered into with Sopra Steria Limited 10 years previously. Having originally been appointed in 2013 to support Cabinet Office's Commercial Models Team and Government lawyers to set up the SSCL joint venture, DLA Piper was delighted to be reappointed to work alongside Cabinet Office and the Government Legal Department (GLD) on Cabinet Office's exit.

Gemma Cowap, Legal Director at DLA Piper, comments: Having been a member of the core DLA Piper team that worked on the original set up of SSCL 10 years ago, it was a real pleasure to work closely with colleagues at Cabinet Office and GLD once again to structure and document Cabinet Office's exit.

The DLA Piper team, which was led by Gemma Cowap, included Michael Hudson and Jonathan Watkins.
