Understanding the EU Data Act: Key sector analysis

30 June 2025, 17:00 – 18:00 CEST, 16:00 - 17:00 BST, 8:00 – 9:00 PDT | Webinar

The EU Data Act, which entered into force in January 2024 and will apply from 12 September 2025, is set to reshape the data economy across the European Union. As a cornerstone of the EU Digital Decade, the regulation introduces a harmonized framework for data access and sharing, aiming to unlock the value of industrial and IoT-generated data while ensuring fairness, transparency, and user empowerment.

With its broad scope and cross-sectoral impact, the Data Act presents both opportunities and compliance challenges – particularly for organizations in data-intensive industries such as technology, industrials, financial services, and life sciences.

Join our upcoming webinar hosted by DLA Piper’s Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity team on 30 June, 17:00 – 18:00 CEST, where we will explore the sector-specific implications of the EU Data Act and the changes it brings to businesses.

In this session, we will:

  • Explore the impact on connected devices and data-driven services in the technology and industrial sectors;
  • Analyze how the Act affects data sharing in life sciences, including medical devices and research collaborations;
  • Discuss contractual fairness and data access rights in financial services;

Register for the event to take part in a thought-provoking discussion on the future of the EU’s data economy.
