Carmen García is an associate in the Litigation and Regulatory department at DLA Piper’s Madrid office. Since joining the firm in 2023, she has developed a practice focused on civil and commercial litigation, alongside advising national and international clients on the interpretation and application of Spanish private law.
Carmen has been involved in complex disputes across sectors, such as energy or telecommunications, advising on the representation of clients before the Spanish civil courts. Her experience spans contractual and extracontractual liability claims, breaches of representations and warranties, enforcement proceedings, and general contractual conflicts within regulated and non‑regulated industries.
She has also participated in arbitration proceedings of significant value, particularly in matters involving breaches of contractual commitments, which has strengthened her understanding of cross‑border dispute dynamics and evidentiary strategy.
In parallel, Carmen provides ongoing advisory support to corporate clients on civil and commercial matters, including contractual interpretation, risk allocation, and regulatory considerations under Spanish law. This combined contentious and advisory background enables her to adopt a practical, structured and business‑oriented approach to dispute resolution and preventive legal analysis.
Carmen also contributes to multi‑jurisdictional matters, internal analyses, and pro bono projects touching on civil procedure, further strengthening her grounding in Spanish litigation strategy.
