Second edition of Introduzione al diritto internazionale privato, Pietro Franzina

In September 2023, Giappichelli published the second edition of Introduzione al diritto internazionale privato (Introduction to Private International Law) by Pietro Franzina.

The handbook aims to provide a 360-degree view of the main topics and instruments of private international law.

It deals with private international law relating to commercial activities, analysing the applicable instruments both in terms of jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition and enforcement of judgments (Brussels I-bis regulation, Rome I and Rome II regulations). The book also looks into private international law instruments relating to family law, such as the maintenance obligations, divorce and separation (Brussels II-ter regulation, Rome III regulation and the 1996 Hague Convention), topics which are rarely covered in handbooks, although they are common in practice.

The final part of the handbook also deals with cooperation between national authorities, in particular on the service of judicial documents abroad and taking of evidence.
