Carlos Daza specializes in matters of public law and regulated sectors such as, among others, public procurement, public assets, infrastructures, integral water cycle, energy sector (including renewable energies), pharma, health products or environmental law.

His experience also includes advice in administrative proceedings, contentious-administrative procedures and the regulatory component of real estate; financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions.

He also has experience from the point of view of private law, civil and real estate-registry law and commercial, corporate and structural modification law.

He has extensive experience representing national and foreign investors.

  • Advising on the potential purchase of 6 regional shadow toll roads (more than EUR500m). Project completion 2019. Lead lawyer in regulatory matters and coordinator of the regulatory due diligence.
  • Advising on the potential purchase of debt associated with 6 financially stressed shadow toll roads, State and Regional (more than EUR200m). Project completion 2016. Coordinator of the regulatory due diligence.
  • Advising on the purchase of one of the main companies in Spain specialized in waste treatment and waste recovery (more than EUR1bn). Project completion 2016. Coordinator of the regulatory due diligence.
  • Advising on the potential sale of a stake in one of the main business group dedicated to the management of the integral water cycle in Spain (investment of more than EU1bn). Project completion 2018. Lead lawyer in regulatory matters and coordinator of the regulatory due diligence.
  • Advising on the sale and purchase of 24 projects for the construction of photovoltaic power plants in several Spanish regions. Project completion 2020. Lead lawyer in regulatory matters and coordinator of the regulatory due diligence.
  • Advising on the purchase of a stake in the main company dedicated to the transport and storage of hydrocarbons in Spain (investment of more than EUR460m). Project completion 2017-18. Lead lawyer in regulatory matters and coordinator of the regulatory due diligence.
  • Recurring advice on regulatory and public procurement matters to the main business group dedicated to the management of the integral water cycle in Spain. Project completion 2017-19. Recurring support lawyer.
  • Advising on the acquisition of lands from several railway entities on which the main urban development in the north of Madrid will be located (more than EUR1,25bn). Project completion 2019. Lead lawyer in regulatory matters.
  • Advising on the purchase of a stake in the main weapons and explosives manufacturing company in Spain (EUR270m). Project completion 2018. Lead lawyer and coordinator of the regulatory due diligence.
  • Advising on the imposed by law conversion of a Savings Bank in Madrid into a special foundation and its simultaneous merger with a pre-existing related foundation (approximately EUR600m). Project completion 2012-2014. Lead lawyer in all matters.
