Mitchell Smith practices corporate and securities law, assisting public and private companies in all aspects of corporate and commercial activity, with an emphasis on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and commercial real estate transactions.
Mitchell advises issuers, underwriters, and investors in relation to public and private equity and debt financings, initial public offerings, bought deal prospectus offerings, reverse take-overs, capital pool companies, private placements, takeover bids, plans of arrangement, and corporate reorganizations. He also has experience representing clients in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate properties. Mitchell assists clients with structuring and negotiating real estate limited partnerships and financings.
In addition, Mitchell advises clients on matters relating to initial registration and ongoing compliance for entities involved in dealing, advising, and investment fund management activities.
Mitchell earned his Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Saskatchewan. He also completed a semester at Jönköping International Business School in Sweden.
