About

Tim Pfenninger works with product manufacturers, distributors, and retailers to defend their products in complex litigation. His practice includes high stakes commercial disputes, class action litigation, and multi district litigation, where he leads coordinated defense strategies across state and federal jurisdictions. Tim has significant experience partnering with foreign vehicle manufacturers and domestic vehicle distributors, as well as advising some of the most globally recognizable luxury brands, on matters involving product performance, product marketing and consumer decision making, warranty obligations, and supply chain disruptions.

Tim also understands it is not just a client's product that is at stake in complex litigation. A client’s brand and reputation are on the line too. For this reason, he works closely with in house legal, business, engineering, and communications teams to calibrate discovery, motion practice, and case resolution strategy to business objectives, emphasizing risk mitigation, message discipline, and trial ready advocacy that protects long term brand value.

Given his clients’ global presence, Tim regularly advises companies based outside the United States on jurisdictional challenges and cross border discovery issues. He works with his clients to address unique burdens on global companies facing U.S. litigation while ensuring compliance with international legal and corporate regulatory requirements.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and before joining DLA Piper, Tim served as a law clerk to Judge A. Richard Caputo on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
