María is an associate in the Litigation and Regulatory Department in the Madrid office of DLA Piper.

María has experience in matters of public procurement, environmental law, public assets, town planning, infrastructures, energy law, including advising in renewable energies, EV charging infrastructures, self-consumption, distribution and commercialization of electricity, as well as in the oil and gas sector.

She has also experience in legal advice and due diligences in different corporate transactions in regulated sectors, such as, energy, transport, renewables, telecommunications, fuel, pharma or health products.

Her experience also includes advice in administrative proceedings, contentious-administrative procedures and the regulatory component of real estate, financing transactions or mergers and acquisitions.

EXPERIENCE

Maria's experience include:

  • Advising a financial entity on the regulatory aspects of the financing of the acquisition by a client of a stake in a company engaged in the operation and management of eight (8) subsidized private schools (colegios concertados) in the Region of Madrid, in 2024.
  • Advising a leading telecommunications company in relation to a judicial procedure related to the challenge by the Spanish Central Government of the award of a public domain concession by the Government of the Canary Islands for the deployment of a maritime optical fibre cable. Lead lawyer in regulatory matters, in 2025.
  • Advising an international developer, owner and operator of hyper-scale digital infrastructure assets in the due diligence process and the negotiation of the SPA for the implementation of a data centre project, in 2025.
  • Advising a group of international insurers in the preparation of the patrimonial administrative claim (reclamación de responsabilidad patrimonial de la Administración) against Generalitat de Catulunya and Aeroports Públics de Catalunya, S.L. in connection with certain damages caused to aircraft in the facilities managed by those entities, in 2024 and 2025.
  • Advising on the sale and purchase and financing of multiple projects for the construction of photovoltaic power plants and wind farms in several Spanish regions, in 2024 and 2025.
  • Advise in relation to a judicial procedure related to the challenge by the Spanish Central Government of the award of a public domain concession by the Government of the Canary Islands for the deployment of a maritime optical fibre cable, in 2025.
  • Advising an international company in relation to the rules for participating in the Spanish Organized Energy Market and the procedures for acting as an energy trader in Spain, in 2025.
