About

Enrique is a partner in the M&A and Private Equity team at DLA Piper Spain, representative of the Latin America Committee, and responsible for cross-border M&A transactions between DLA Piper's international platform and the Latin American region.

His expertise focuses mainly on M&A Private Equity, Search Funds and Venture Capital transactions, and in particular he has extensive experience in cross-border transactions and corporate restructuring.

Enrique has developed his professional career working in Madrid, Prague, London, São Paulo and Bogotá. He has also worked in the corporate departments of some of the leading international law firms.

Enrique has represented companies such as CVC Capital Partners, KKR, Oaktree Capital, Cerberus PAI Partners, Sun Capital, Portobello, Nazca, MCH, Kraft Foods and Michelin.

Enrique is a professor at IE Business School, where he teaches Private Equity, Cross-border M&A and Joint Ventures in the LL.M in International Business Law.

Since 2020, he has been a regular speaker at Columbia Business School and INSEAD (Asia campus), as well as a panellist at Yale School of Management in the programme ‘Entrepreneurship through Acquisition - Search Funds’.

  • Advising Abengoa on the sale of the Befesa group to Triton Partners for EUR1.07bn.
  • Advising Kraft Cadbury on its integration via cross-border merger in the EU for EUR1.03bn.

Enrique is a regular speaker in the #KnowYourRights programme, organised by the Probono area of our firm together with ACNUR (Spain). In this event, topics on contract law and, specifically, consumer law are discussed.

Enrique is professor at the IE Business School teaching Private Equity, Cross border M&A and Joint Ventures in the LL.M of International Business Law.

He is a regular guest speaker at the Columbia Business School, panelist at INSEAD (Asia campus) and Yale School of Management in the Entrepreneurship through Acquisition - Search Funds programs.

Enrique was a lecturer at IE University and at the Carlos III University (Madrid) teaching corporate law within the Private Law Department.
