About

Livia Van Severen focuses on both European and Belgian regulation, with a particular focus on energy and contract law. She obtained a master's degree in law from the Catholic University of Leuven in 2018. During her study years, she also went on an Erasmus exchange to Durham University.

After graduating, Livia started her lawyer traineeship at DLA Piper in the Real Estate Department in 2018. There, she built expertise in drafting and negotiating several real estate transactions and contracts. She further deepened this expertise at another law firm based in Brussels.

She then joined the cabinet of Flemish Deputy Prime Minister Bart Somers where she began to focus more on energy, public and administrative law. She now applies this combined knowledge in the Litigation & Regulatory department at DLA Piper again.

Since a few years, she is also a teaching assistant at the Catholic University of Leuven. She teaches the course "Legal Methodology" and assists second Bachelor students in writing their first legal paper.
