DLA Piper Canada welcomes associate Marlé Riley
DLA Piper (Canada) LLP welcomes Marlé Riley to the firm’s Calgary office in the Regulatory Law group. Marlé has a litigation and administrative law practice with a particular focus on energy regulatory and natural resources law.
Marlé advises clients regarding all aspects of natural resources law, and acts for solar, oil and gas, and mining companies. She has represented clients before various tribunals and regulatory boards, including the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Energy Regulator and the Canada Energy Regulator and has also presented cases before the superior courts of Alberta. Marlé’s energy regulatory practice includes assisting clients in a range of matters, including facility applications, inquiries, rates, compliance, inspections and investigations, and professional disciplinary matters.
Marlé practiced as a barrister for more than ten years in South Africa, appearing before all levels of court, before being called to the bar in Alberta in 2022. Prior to joining DLA Piper, she practiced at a Calgary-based boutique law firm specializing in energy and utility regulated matters.
