The Supreme Court ended its last term with several decisions that promise to reshape the regulatory landscape: The Court overruled the Chevron deference doctrine, imposed new limits on the use of agencies’ in-house adjudicatory proceedings, and effectively extended the timeline for facial challenges to agencies’ regulations.
While these rulings grabbed headlines, much of the immediate discussion surrounding them only grazed the surface. Now is the time for a closer, more nuanced look at their implications across industries – including the new opportunities and challenges they present for different entities.
DLA Piper hosted an in-person Policy Matters event in our Washington, DC office, where partners from several practices and sectors – including environmental, telecommunications, transportation, and FDA/life sciences – led a discussion focused on the ramifications of these rulings for our clients.
