DLA Piper advises team.blue on acquisition of iubenda

DLA Piper has advised team.blue on the acquisition of iubenda, one of Europe’s leading privacy and compliance tools. iubenda was founded in 2011 in Italy and supports SMEs with attorney-level solutions to make their websites and apps compliant with privacy laws such that the entrepreneurs can focus on their core business. iubenda is offering several integrated solutions to answer the compliance needs of organizations across multiple languages and legislations on websites and apps. These include solutions on privacy and cookie policies, the EU cookie law, terms and conditions, GDPR consent recording and CCPA disclosures, offered through a one-stop shop SaaS compliance multi-national platform.

iubenda’s headquarters is based in Milan, Italy, but the group is already operating on a global scale with a team of nearly 100 across more than 25 different nationalities. The company has about 80,000 customers today, spread over more than 100 countries. By joining forces with team.blue, iubenda aims to further accelerate its international expansion in the e-compliance business.

team.blue is a leading digital enabler for companies and entrepreneurs. It serves over 2.5 million customers in Europe and has more than 1.600 experts to support them. Its goal is to shape technology and to empower businesses with innovative digital services.

The DLA Piper team was jointly led by Hamburg-based partner Dr Nils Krause and foreign associate Dan Li (both Corporate/M&A). The team further included partners Semin O (Antitrust) and Dr Björn Enders (Tax, both Frankfurt), counsel Dr Enno Ahlenstiel (Antitrust, Cologne), senior associate Christine Uwase (Corporate/M&A, Hamburg), associates Anastasia Max (Tax) and Alexander Rösch (Antitrust, both Frankfurt). The German team was also supported by the DLA Piper office in Milan with a Corporate/M&A team around partner Christian Iannaccone, senior associate Giulia Fioramonti and associate Giorgia Grande.
