DLA Piper Canada advised FansUnite on transactions

DLA Piper Canada has advised global sports and entertainment company, FansUnite Entertainment Inc. (TSX:FANS) (OTCQX: FUNFF) ("FansUnite"), in both the sale of its Chameleon Gaming Platform ‎and McBookie Ltd.‎

On May 8, 2023, FansUnite sold the source code related to their Chameleon Gaming Platform to Betr Holdings Inc. FansUnite has received a license back to use the Platform and source code to further develop and maintain the platform, and the ability to sell such use to another buyer in the future. The transaction will allow the company to further focus on growing its most profitable business units.

On May 2, 2023, FansUnite signed  a definitive agreement in which they sold to an arm's length third-party all of the shares in its wholly owned subsidiary, McBookie Ltd., a Scottish private limited company. McBookie is the dominant Scottish-focused sportsbook and online casino in the UK.

FansUnite is a global sports entertainment and gaming company, focused on the regulated and lawful sports betting and iGaming market which includes sports betting, customer acquisition, retention, support and reactivation. FansUnite has established itself as a leader in the North American affiliate market through its subsidiary American Affiliate Co LLC.

DLA Piper Canada assisted FansUnite‎ in these transactions with a team led by Denis Silva and including Morgan McDonald, Ryan Black, Gavyn Backus, Pat Teichreb, Josh Sved, Jenny Du, Sunil Sharma, Aaron Johnson, Kevin F. Fritz, Elise Cartier, Nahal Iranpour, Beatriz Albuquerque and Kaleigh Nevin.

Previously, DLA  assisted FansUnite on its TSX listing, acquisition of American ‎Affiliate, a $25 million public offering and a $13.4 million private placement, among other matters in its successful growth.
