DLA Piper receives two Law360 Practice Group of the Year awards

Firm recognized for top Real Estate and Product Liability groups

DLA Piper is proud to have received Law360 Practice Group of the Year recognitions in both the Real Estate and Product Liability categories. The annual Practice Group of the Year awards honor law firms that handled “standout matters and groundbreaking legal work” in a wide range of areas.

“These recognitions showcase the tremendous capabilities of our lawyers and their commitment to providing innovative solutions and best-in-class service,” said Frank Ryan, DLA Piper’s Americas Chair. “Congratulations to our clients and lawyers on these achievements.”

The Real Estate practice was recognized based on its handling of a multitude of multi-billion-dollar matters involving properties and projects around the globe, including a US$40 billion data center project in the US, a US$25 billion mixed-use project in the US, and a US$7 billion joint venture involving properties in the US, Germany and France.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by Law360 as a top Real Estate group for the second time in the last five years,” said Bryan Connolly, Chair of DLA Piper’s US Real Estate practice. “This award speaks to the breadth and depth of our practice, as well as our ability to work seamlessly as an integrated team while handing large and significant transactions that often involve properties in many different jurisdictions across the globe.”

The Product Liability practice was honored for achieving a key product liability defense victory in Cody v. Monsanto, which involved allegations related to Roundup weedkiller, and for its role representing Novo Nordisk as national trial counsel and global coordination counsel in ongoing product liability actions related to its diabetes and obesity medications, including Ozempic. The team also represents Sanofi as co-national counsel in litigation and regulatory issues relating to Zantac medication, among many other notable cases.

“It’s an honor to be recognized for the strength of our team and our numerous achievements this past year. We see this recognition as a testament to our track record of success in bringing mass torts to an early end and guiding clients through high-profile, complex matters, as well as our role on the forefront of many issues generating high-profile litigation,” said Christopher Campbell, Chair of DLA Piper’s US Product Liability practice.
