David advises insurers and reinsurers on policy coverage issues and disputes, with a particular focus on warranty & indemnity, property/business interruption and aviation insurance. 

David has experience of international arbitration under the rules of the LCIA and the ICC, as well as ad-hoc arbitrations.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising insurers on a USD40m W&I claim relating to alleged breaches of financial statements warranties in respect of an international online travel business.
  • Acting for W&I insurers in arbitration proceedings arising out of a circa. GBP20m claim for a breach of applicable laws warranty in the healthcare sector.
  • Advising Lloyd’s market and company insurers on property/business interruption coverage issues arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a particular focus on ROW claims.
  • Advising Lloyd’s market and company reinsurers on treaty reinsurance disputes arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Acting for reinsurers in arbitration proceedings arising out of 9/11 first responder related losses.
  • Acting for a global energy firm in Arbitration Act 1996 proceedings brought in the English High Court.
