About
Jessica Marlette is an attorney and a Certified Information Professional (CIP) with a career spanning 20 years in and around the legal field who helps organizations transform complex legal, regulatory, and operational requirements into practical, sustainable information governance (IG) programs.

Jessica counsels domestic and multinational clients across numerous sectors on all aspects of IG to address how physical and electronic information is created, used, retained, and disposed of throughout its lifecycle while balancing compliance, business needs, and technological realities. She works closely with clients to develop enterprise-wide policies, procedures, records retention schedules, and risk assessments; advises on data remediation initiatives, including the identification of ROT (redundant, obsolete, or trivial) and defensible disposition strategies; and provides strategic and tactical advice on challenges such as managing email and governing electronic communications.

Her practice is distinguished by a strong operational lens, which she developed during nearly a decade at a global law firm, where she worked at the intersection of legal advisory, information governance, and knowledge management. In addition to advising the firm as counsel on its records and information management obligations, she served as a senior leader within the firm’s IG team, helping to shape and advance the firm's IG strategy, led enterprise content governance initiatives, developed firmwide policies, procedures, and best practices, and established a formal global IG training and awareness program. This experience gave her firsthand understanding of the operational realities organizations face when implementing IG programs – an insight that continues to inform her practical, implementation-focused approach with clients.
