Ricardo Néry is a lawyer with experience in Commercial and Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Banking and Financial Law, Project Finance, Energy Law and Aviation Law in the jurisdictions of Portugal, Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.

He has several years of international experience, particularly in Angola and Mozambique, where he has been involved in advising on export credit finance, infrastructure, transport and natural resources transactions.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising on a EUR9 million acquisition of a cosmetic leading company based in Portugal.
  • Advising on a EUR11 million  selling of a Portuguese waste management company.
  • Legal advice on the structuring and negotiation of multiple Euro term loan facilities, with an aggregate amount exceeding EUR400 million, in connection with export financing transactions supported by official export credit agencies (ECAs), acting for borrowers in complex cross-border transactions.
  • Advising on the compliance with Angolan public procurement laws with respect to the execution of several contracts for the acquisition of 3 airplanes (boeing 777) for the Angolan flag carrier airline.
  • Advising on the negotiation and implementation of a US dollar-denominated term facility supported by an official export credit agency, together with an ancillary commercial credit facility, with an aggregate value in excess of USD39 million.
  • Advising on a EUR380 million facility agreement for the financing and completion of three major healthcare infrastructure projects in an African jurisdiction, acting in a cross-border transaction involving an international banking syndicate and a sovereign borrower.
