Navigating Government Funding in 2025: Securing and Managing Federal Grants, Contracts, and Loans
San Francisco Climate WeekWednesday, April 23, 2025
In the past few months, the US Government has shifted its policies and priorities for energy and energy security, critical minerals, grid resiliency, and other related topics. This has created uncertainty for companies performing under existing federal grants, contracts, and loans and for companies interested in obtaining such funding in the future.
We hosted a cross-disciplinary panel discussion, covering:
- Recent executive orders relating to energy, infrastructure, and other federal policies.
- Current issues that recipients of grants under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) are facing, including suspensions, terminations, and DEI-certification requests.
- The DOE Loan Programs Office and the DoD Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment Program.
- Strategies for outreach to congressional representatives and for obtaining funding through the appropriations process.
- Areas where the US Government has indicated it will potentially spend federal monies.
- Best practices for identifying and preparing proposals for federal contract and grant opportunities.
