DLA Piper announces new US Executive Committee and Global Board members

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that partners Angela Agrusa, David Mendelsohn, Kathleen Ruhland and Eric Wang have been named to the firm’s US Executive Committee, and that partner Ann Ford has been appointed to the firm’s Global Board.

Agrusa, who also serves as managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles offices, represents international brands, major companies and prominent individuals in high-stakes, complex commercial cases and class actions. She also serves as co-chair of the Business and Commercial Litigation sub-practice and as co-chair of the Food and Beverage sub-sector.

Mendelsohn focuses his practice in the area of insurance and reinsurance transactional, compliance and regulatory matters. He also advises large, multinational companies that operate in a wide range of industries on regulatory and compliance issues in most countries around the world. He is a member of the firm’s Policy Committee and is a former managing partner of the Chicago office.

Ruhland, who is also managing partner of DLA Piper’s Minneapolis office and chair of the Consumer Goods sub-sector, advises clients on cross-border transactions, including global M&A, restructuring and joint ventures, in established and emerging markets throughout the world. She also serves on the Policy Committee.

Wang serves as co-chair of the firm’s Northern California Corporate and Finance practice and is a member of the Policy Committee. He focuses his practice in the area of M&A, having represented numerous public and private companies in various industries both within the United States and in cross-border transactions as well as having represented carriers in the underwriting of representation and warranty and other transactional insurance policies. He also has broad experience in general corporate and securities representation and business counseling of publicly traded companies, emerging growth and other privately held companies and venture capital firms.

Ford is also US chair and global co-chair of DLA Piper’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice, as well as the firm’s US chair and global co-chair of Sectors. She works with clients on business, litigation, strategy and transactional aspects of intellectual property. She has extensive experience working with both mature and emerging companies on developing, strengthening and enforcing brands in a wide variety of industries. She is also a member of the Executive, Management and Policy committees.
