DLA Piper advises Katoen Natie on the acquisition of Nijhof Wassink

DLA Piper has advised Katoen Natie, an international logistics service provider and port operator, on the acquisition of the warehousing activities of Nijhof-Wassink in Poland, a family-owned company specialising in logistics.

The acquisition includes a terrain of 25.5 hectares, 42 silos, 15,000 m² of outdoor storage space and five warehouses with a total space of 40,000 m², as well as a repacking hall, an office and a technical building. The facilities are located in Kutno, Poland, strategically positioned next to the PCC intermodal terminal and nearby the junction of two main roads in Poland connecting North-South and East-West. Katoen Natie will also take on 60 employees at the logistics centre and current contracts, except for the transport activities of Nijhof-Wassink and the five Volvo and Renault Trucks dealerships in Poland, which will remain active under the Nijhof-Wassink Group.

DLA Piper’s team in Warsaw included Agnieszka Lehwark (Counsel, Real Estate), Piotr Miller (Counsel, Corporate/M&A) and Paweł Szymański (Associate, Real Estate) who were led by Erwin Simons (Partner, Corporate) from DLA Piper Belgium.
