DLA Piper advises LS Networks in its acquisition of PocketiNet

DLA Piper advised LS Networks in its entry into a definitive agreement to acquire PocketiNet Communications, a residential internet, phone and Wi-Fi service provider.

LS Networks is a leading fiber network provider in the Pacific Northwest, delivering reliable, high-quality connectivity for businesses and homes in underserved and rural communities. The acquisition will be LS Networks’ first entry into the residential market.

“We’re pleased to support LS Networks on this important step into the fiber-to-the-home market and with its broader mission to expand connectivity across the Pacific Northwest,” said Marc Samuel, the DLA Piper partner who led the firm’s deal team.

PocketiNet will immediately expand its fiber-to-the-home services in its existing communities of Walla Walla, College Place, Yakima, Milton Freewater, Waitsburg, Pasco, Sunnyside, Grandview, Prosser, Toppenish, Wapato and Zillah. The initial investment will reach over 32,000 homes in Yakima, Benton, and Walla Walla counties.

“We congratulate LS Networks on successfully completing this transaction, and we are excited to support the continued expansion of this dynamic communications business,” added Jay Tannon, a DLA Piper infrastructure veteran who works with LS Networks and its affiliates.

In addition to Samuel and Tannon (both in Washington, DC), the DLA team included partners Mike Hazzard and Shaked Hoter (both in Washington, DC) and associate Alexis Elder (Short Hills).

With more than 1,000 corporate lawyers globally, DLA Piper helps clients execute complex transactions seamlessly while supporting clients across all stages of development. The firm has been rated number one in global M&A volume for 12 consecutive years, according to Mergermarket.
