DLA Piper advises APEM Group Limited as part of WestBridge’s GBP335 million sale to Applus+ Group
Global law firm DLA Piper has advised APEM Group Limited (APEM), a global environmental consultancy services provider, on the legal due diligence of its Australian subsidiaries in connection with the GBP335 million sale of the wider APEM Group. The transaction involved the sale by its shareholder, WestBridge, a UK-based private equity fund, to Applus+ Group, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services.
Commenting on the transaction, DLA Piper corporate partner Mark Burger said: “The sale brings together two highly complementary businesses and marks an important step in APEM’s growth and future direction.”
DLA Piper has a long-standing relationship with APEM, having previously advised the group on its expansion into Australia. This included advice on the acquisition of AARC Environmental Solutions Pty Ltd in 2024 and Attexo Group Pty Ltd in 2025, supporting APEM’s continued growth in the region.
The cross-practice DLA Piper team was led by Corporate partner Mark Burger and supported by partners Rick Catanzariti (Employment) and Sallie Bowtell (Real Estate), solicitors Joyeeta Bhakta, Nathaniel Law and Nicole To (all Corporate) and Dylan Somers and Bronson Smorgon (both Real Estate); senior associate Elizabeth Cole (Employment), along with Tia Taylor and Floor Tibboel, managers in the firm's legal delivery centre.
