Andrew Walker is an experienced real estate investment, development and real estate finance lawyer who acts for for a wide range of clients on all aspects of commercial property transactions. Andrew has experience in the industrial, financial services and retail sectors in both national and international transactions.

Andrew's clients include private equity houses, national property developers, various alternative lenders, local authority pension funds, major UK clearing banks and FTSE 100 listed and other PLC companies.

  • Acting for a leading global alternative asset manager client on the acquisition and ongoing management of a significant UK logistics portfolio with a value of circa GBP350m. 
  • Advising a private equity backed investor on the acquisition, financing and development of a 1.5 million square foot industrial estate with a value of GBP150m.
  • Leading the DLA Piper real estate team advising CBRE Loan Services on their GBP280m commercial mortgage backed security (CMBS) backed Toys 'R' Us 'Duke Portfolio'. Dealing with this high profile portfolio included the proposed redevelopment of strategic multi-million pound city centre mixed use schemes along with a number of investment focused occupational transactions and ultimate disposals.
  • Advising a high profile national developer on the acquisition, funding and development of a variety of new build logistics assets across the country.
  • Acting for Greater Manchester Pension Fund on their disposal of 3-8 Whitehall to L&G for GBP155m. 
  • Acting for Maslow Capital in funding Vita Group's GBP180m BTR scheme at Port Street, Manchester. 
  • Acting on behalf of Balfour Beatty Investments Limited on their 300 unit GBP55m forward fund BTR scheme in Manchester.
  • Acquisition and forward funding of a 700 unit GBP100m PRS scheme in Manchester (the largest BTR scheme outside of London at the time).
  • Advising Transport for Greater Manchester on the new tram extension from Manchester City Centre to The Trafford Centre including acquiring numerous freehold and leasehold interests along the new route under a variety of agreements, leases and transfers.
  • Acting on behalf of a number of hotel developers, funders and operators (including Unilever, Resident, Dakota, Room2, Virgin Money and others) on a variety of developments, investments and refinances across the United Kingdom.
