Responsible Business at DLA Piper means looking for opportunities to use our strength as a leading global business law firm to make a positive contribution in our local and global communities. Our Responsible Business initiatives embody our values and demonstrate how they are embedded in the way we engage with our people, our clients and our communities.

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is a strategic policy initiative for organisations that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies to UN goals aimed at building a sustainable and inclusive global economy.

We are proud to be signatories of the UNGC, as our support for the initiative underlines our commitment to corporate responsibility. We strive to advance the ten universally accepted principles covering human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption through our approach to business and our engagement with our stakeholders.

Our involvement with the UNGC complements our longstanding relationships with UN agencies. Our global pro bono practice acts for and with UN agencies, alongside some of the leading global charities, aid agencies, NGOs, governments and academic institutions around the world. Our first global charity partnership with UNICEF brings together the strength of both our organisations to ensure that children coming into contact with the law are better served and protected.

As part of our commitment to the UNGC, we produce an annual 'Communication on Progress' against the UN Global Compact ten universal principles and broader UN development goals.
