Join us to explore how the financial services sector leads through disruption.

The financial services sector faces continued economic uncertainty, geopolitical risk, and regulatory and technological change. Although market sentiment remains broadly positive, pressures on strategy, investment, and operating models are increasingly uneven across regions and business lines.

Earlier this year, DLA Piper published the second edition of Financial futures: Leading through disruption, based on insights from nearly 800 senior leaders across global financial services. Building on this research through an evening discussion, we'll examine how the findings reflect market change and how current economic and policy conditions may influence the period ahead.

The discussion opens with Chris Hare, Senior Economist at HSBC, as he shares his perspective on the economic outlook and current macroeconomic conditions. This will be followed by a fireside discussion with Paul Johnson, Provost of Queen’s College, Oxford, former Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies and one of the UK’s most influential voices on economic and public policy, offering a candid and authoritative perspective on how economic and policy decisions are reshaping financial services strategy, regulation, and long‑term growth. The discussion will draw on Paul’s experience advising governments and institutions, providing practical insights into the trade‑offs and choices facing business and policymakers alike.

You can download the Financial futures: Leading through disruption report here for further detail on the findings that will be discussed during the evening.
