Bárbara Galetovic focuses her practice on antitrust and consumer protection, with a particular emphasis on providing strategic advice to companies in the pharmaceutical, retail and consumer goods, technology, and other highly regulated industries.

In antitrust, Bárbara has extensive experience in the design and implementation of compliance programs and in conducting both internal and external investigations, with a focus on coordinated conduct. She has played an active role in preventive merger control proceedings before the National Economic Prosecutor's Office (FNE), as well as in proceedings before the Competition Tribunal (TDLC). She also provides ongoing advice to clients on the assessment of unilateral conduct and corporate governance structures, ensuring that their commercial practices comply with competition regulations while aligning with each company's business strategy and operating model.

In consumer protection and advertising, Bárbara advises companies on the design and implementation of commercial strategies aimed at business growth within the applicable legal framework. Her practice includes the development and implementation of internal protocols, the alignment of business practices with the Consumer Protection Act, the implementation of Compliance Programs, and advising on marketing and advertising strategies. She works closely with companies in managing consumer complaints before the National Consumer Service (SERNAC) and represents clients in judicial and administrative proceedings, including matters before the Advertising Self‑Regulation and Ethics Council (CONAR).

  • An international pharmaceutical company in executing a training program directed to an audience of more than 100 representatives from the company's sales force in antitrust matters
    • Additionally, reviewed commercial practices across multiple jurisdictions in Latin America, identified risks in competition matters and issued recommendations to mitigate them
  • A major professional services company in the preparation of a clean team deal in the context of a potential acquisition by a competitor, in order to avoid competitive risks in its potential sale
    • Additionally, in the implementation of a training program on antitrust matters, within the framework of a compliance program within the company
Consumer Protection and Advertising
  • L'Oréal in defense against a class action presented by an association of consumers (CONADECUS) before the Civil Tribunal
  • Cornershop in the defense against a claim presented by SERNAC before the Local Tribunal (local police court)
  • A leading mobility company responding to a Request for Information from the Chilean National Consumer Protection Service (SERNAC) regarding internal policies and data protection
    • Also, in preparing and designing a response to a highly sensitive Request for Information issued by the Chilean Consumer Protection Agency
  • A multi-national consumer goods and personal care corporation in submitting a complaint to obtain a competitor's cease-and-desist of a comparative marketing campaign that would damage the client's reputation and overall market performance
  • A global, leading cosmetic and beauty company in its defense before the National Board of Ethics on Advertisement (CONAR) in which another cosmetic company requested the modification of our client's packaging due to alleged unethical advertising, considering that the information included in the product's packaging is indeed advertising
  • An advertising agency with operations in the United States in the review and preparation of the terms and conditions of a sweepstakes to be held in different states and the preparation of the contract to be signed with the eventual winners of the contest
  • An entertainment company on the potential effects that the shutdown of a Platform may have
