DLA Piper advises Svea Solar Utility on EUR185 million platform financing
Global law firm DLA Piper advised Svea Solar Utility on the platform financing of up to EUR185 million from Eiffel Investment Group and Arkéa Asset Management, both active lenders in the European energy transition space.
The financing provides junior debt to support the continued expansion of Svea Solar Utility’s renewable energy platform, and will fund the acquisition, development, construction and operation of solar PV and storage assets in Sweden and selected European markets.
The transaction marks a significant milestone in Svea Solar Utility’s evolution as an IPP, reinforcing its ability to scale its portfolio and support the energy transition. The facility, provided at HoldCo level, provides flexible capital and will be used to fund equity investments in new projects, refinance existing obligations and accelerate pipeline execution.
The DLA Piper team working on the transaction was led by Finance partner Derwin Jenkinson, supported by senior associate Charlotte Eliades and associate Jessica MacArthur in the UK. In Sweden the team was led by partner Björn Sjöberg, supported by senior associate Tim Hagberg and associate Erik Hellem.
