Emily is an Associate in DLA Piper's Corporate Crime and Investigations and Trade and Government Affairs teams. Emily advises national and international clients on a range of business compliance and trade-related matters, including suspected bribery and fraud, money laundering, and financial and trade sanctions. She also advises on compliance policies and procedures, including conducting due diligence in the context of corporate transactions.

Emily has previously undertaken a six-month secondment to Aiscension, which is an AI-driven compliance tool. Emily also works on pro bono matters in conjunction with Kids in Need of Defence UK and the Domestic Abuse Response Alliance.

EXPERIENCE

  • Conducting an internal investigation for a global retail client and its UK subsidiary, covering multiple jurisdictions, regarding allegations of misconduct relating to accounting irregularities.
  • Supporting on an investigation and subsequent compliance project with respect to governance, systems and controls in an industrial company.
  • Advising a multinational company in relation to the ABC elements regarding its acquisition of two food and beverage companies.
