DLA Piper advises UK’s Ministry of Defence on GBP460 million contract with Boeing Defence UK

DLA Piper has advised the UK’s Ministry of Defence on the conclusion of a new five year GBP460 million contract with Boeing Defence UK, extending existing arrangements for a logistics system critical to UK Armed Forces operations worldwide.

Logistics Information Systems support vital services including inventory, transport, engineering and general ledger management, ensuring the UK can successfully deploy military personnel and equipment globally.

Supporting the Ministry of Defence’s ongoing Modernising Defence Programme, this new contract will ensure access to a single technology-enabled system to support essential inventory services, covering everything from washers and bolts to replacement parts for nuclear missiles.

The DLA Piper Public Sector Procurement team was led by London-based Intellectual Property and Technology partner Mark O’Conor, and included senior associate Holly Pearsall and associates Chris Rennie and Faye Morton. The team worked closely with the DE&S team from the Ministry of Defence to conclude the agreement, which successfully balances the needs of both parties and sets the scene for a successful partnership.
