About

Anna Kovaleva is a Senior Legal Advisor in DLA Piper’s International Trade, Regulatory and Government Affairs team. She advises multinational companies and foreign governments on complex EU regulatory and policy matters, with a focus on trade, sustainability and ESG. Her practice combines regulatory and public affairs expertise to help clients strategically address trade, market access, and product compliance challenges.

She regularly advises companies in a number of sectors, including consumer and luxury goods, food, digital and technology, financial services and life sciences. She has also provided diplomatic support to foreign governments in the EU and in international negotiations, including Brexit, trade agreements, and the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

While at DLA Piper, Anna was seconded to one of the major European financial institutions, where she supported the global legal team with cross-border transactional advice on EU sanctions and contributed to the development of internal policies.

As part of the pro bono practice, Anna regularly supports clients on climate and human rights-related issues.

Anna is the country lead of the Women in Law network at DLA Piper.
