DLA Piper advises GMT on the sale of its aerospace division
DLA Piper has advised GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik GmbH on the sale of its aerospace division “GMT Aerospace”. Based in Germany, “GMT Aerospace” is a leading developer and manufacturer of tie-rods and rubber-metal anti-vibration systems for both commercial and military aerospace applications. Buyer is TriMas Aerospace, a US-based company specialized in the design and manufacture of highly-engineered fasteners and precision-machined components, serving commercial aircraft manufacturers and the US military.
“GMT Aerospace” serves a broad customer base including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers. Under the terms of the asset purchase and transfer agreement, TriMas has acquired the assets, liabilities, contractual relationships and personnel of “GMT Aerospace” from GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik GmbH. The transaction has been signed in fall 2024 and has been closed on 17 February 2025 after the necessary FDI clearance.
The transaction, led by counsel Dr Christoph Dachner (Munich) and client relationship partner Dr Benjamin Parameswaran (Hamburg; both Corporate/M&A), highlights the strength and industry experience of the team in the mid-cap industrial deals sector.
