About

Richard Woolich focuses, in particular, on leading the international VAT practice but has a broad tax practice advising on international commercial transactions.

Richard focuses on UK and cross-border VAT, including VAT on cross-border supplies of goods and services, real estate, financial services, insurance hospitality, gifts and rewards, and input tax recovery strategies.

He advises clients in different industries on structuring issues.

Richard is a chartered tax adviser and a member of the VAT Practitioners Group. He wrote with another practitioner, a practitioner’s textbook on Stamp Duty Land Tax published by Sweet & Maxwell, and is currently working on the 5th Edition.

Richard regularly speaks at conferences and is a frequent writer of articles in the tax press. He has been a Tier 1 tax adviser in Legal 500 and Chambers for many years and was in 2024 awarded ITR’s Indirect Tax Adviser of the year.
