About

Chas Hamilton is a litigator and investigations lawyer whom clients trust to navigate high stakes matters. Over the course of more than a decade, Chas has represented companies, boards, and individuals in complex commercial disputes, internal investigations, and sensitive government inquiries where legal, reputational, and operational risks converge. Chas' practice focuses on the Media, Sport, Entertainment (MSE), Technology, and Telecommunications sectors, and he has cultivated a reputation for providing seasoned, pragmatic counsel under pressure.

In the MSE sector, Chas' work has included the successful defense of an international sports association against league wide liability claims involving nuanced questions of duty, causation, and organizational responsibility, and representing a national sports league in a sensitive investigation into misconduct by coaches and league leadership.

Chas' Technology practice includes high-profile matters at the intersection of litigation and platform risk, such as representing a leading technology company in a federal inquiry into statements made to employment candidates about the forward looking value of equity compensation, representing a social media company in SPAC related litigation, and conducting a civil rights assessment for a global technology company to address allegations of algorithmic bias.

Chas' Telecommunications representation has included the successful defense of an international telecommunications provider alleged to have caused the 2020 Silverado Wildfire. Chas currently helps lead the firm's Environmental and Catastrophic Events taskforce, through which the firm advises high-risk entities navigate legal liability before, during and after catastrophic events.

Chas maintains an active pro bono practice focused on civil rights and access to justice. Prior to beginning his legal career, Chas was a second-grade teacher in the Atlanta Public School system through Teach for America. Outside of his day-to-day legal work, Chas serves as a Ninth Circuit Lawyer Representative for the Central District of California, and as a Director for Community Partners, a Los Angeles-based fiscal sponsorship organization.
