About

Marc Lager is a global leader for EU international trade at DLA Piper and the head of the Austrian competition and trade law practice.

He is an EU competition and trade lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in advising domestic and foreign clients on the full range of Austrian and EU competition law and foreign direct investment controls. This includes matters related to EU merger control, cartel investigations, cartel litigation, abuse of dominance, distribution law, general compliance, EU export controls, sanctions and FDI screening. Marc advises and represents clients on a broad range of contentious antitrust matters, including dawn raids, antitrust proceedings, as well as proceedings before Austrian competition authorities and antitrust investigations. He also regularly leads complex cross-border investigations and advises clients on general foreign trade law. He is a co-editor and author of the leading commentary of the Austrian Cartel Act, a featured speaker at international conferences as well as the author of numerous books and articles on EU competition law and EU trade law.
