AssociateDave Scott is a corporate associate and a member of the technology licensing and commercial transactions group at DLA Piper. Dave advises clients on a broad range of intellectual property, artificial intelligence, technology and commercial matters, including: the acquisition, management, licensing and commercialization of intellectual property; partnering transactions; commercial and development relationships; and intellectual property support for mergers and acquisitions, spinouts, venture capital and private equity transactions.

EXPERIENCE
Dave's experience spans a broad array of industries, including SaaS and cloud computing, computer software and hardware, artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, open source, real estate tech, fintech, climate tech, digital health, sports tech, cybersecurity, aerospace and defense.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Dave spent five years as the chief product officer for a Washington, DC-based technology company. He relies on this hands-on experience to provide his technology clients with strategic and practical counsel.
