  • Represented a gold mining company in arbitration proceedings against a refining plant operator, involving claims of under‑allocation of gold and missing ore stockpiles under a treatment agreement. The claim, valued at over ZAR 200 million, required strategic legal engagement across multiple disciplines.
  • Advising a South African industrial services company operating in the mining and mineral processing sector in arbitration proceedings against a mineral processing contractor. The matter arose from disputes under a sale of assets agreement and a long‑term operation and maintenance contract.
  • Advising a leading financial institution in litigation against a state‑owned export credit insurer, arising from disputes under export credit insurance policies issued in respect of cross‑border infrastructure financing. The matter involved complex contractual interpretation requiring strategic legal analysis across banking, insurance, and public law sectors.
  • Advising a Canadian philanthropic institution in litigation against a South African venture capital firm, arising from the termination of a USD 106.5 million agreement intended to support small, medium, and micro‑sized enterprises across Africa. The matter involved cross‑border legal advisory input, including Canadian trust laws, business rescue laws, and other relevant trust‑related regulations.
  • Advising a financial services company in a dispute concerning governance rights, valuation methodology, and shareholder entitlements. The dispute arose from a transaction involving the sale of a trust services business and the acquisition of a minority stake in the enlarged group. The matter requires cross‑disciplinary legal input across corporate law and financial regulation.
  • Advised a renewable energy company in a dispute involving the development and operation of power generation projects under public sector procurement and grid‑related agreements, in the context of South Africa’s constrained energy supply environment, with the underlying projects valued in excess of ZAR 1 billion.
  • Advised a South African state‑owned development finance institution in relation to a multi‑billion‑rand public infrastructure and hospital development project on the contractual and regulatory validity of performance and retention.
  • Acted for a diversified industrials group listed on the JSE in high‑value private arbitration proceedings arising from a share sale transaction involving the disposal of a group of operating subsidiaries in the logistics and services sector.
  • Acted on behalf of a multinational quick‑service restaurant group in a dispute involving franchise and commercial operating arrangements in the context of the liquidation of multiple franchisees located in South Africa.
  • Acted for a South African aviation services company in the liquidation of a national airline.
  • Acted on behalf of an investment company in a dispute involving a share sale in a listed company and entitlement to post‑sale dividends.
