Raj N. Shah named to Crain’s Chicago Business 2020 Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting & Law list

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Raj N. Shah, co-managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office, has been named to Crain’s Chicago Business’s 2020 Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting & Law list recognizing 56 professionals who have “overcome challenges and bias to rise to the top of their professions.”

Shah, who also leads the firm’s Chicago Litigation practice, litigates complex commercial disputes and counsels some of the leading global companies through strategic and multi-disciplinary matters. He serves as lead counsel to clients involved in complicated disputes across a variety of highly regulated industries, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices, manufacturing and retail, telecommunications, transportation and financial services. He focuses on defending clients in class action and consumer protection litigation, licensing, royalty and other intellectual property disputes, merger and acquisition-related contests, fraud and corporate governance matters and product liability and mass tort litigation.

Shah has also developed a practice representing Indian companies and the Indian community and serves as co-head of DLA Piper’s India practice.

In its profile of Shah, Crain’s also noted Shah’s mentorship of Raja Gaddipati, a former DLA Piper partner who passed away in 2018. DLA Piper renamed its undergraduate internship program for students from diverse backgrounds with an interest in law school in his honor, and it is now known as the Raja Gaddipati Fellows Program.
